Vin Check
Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: October 7, 2026
Agreement
These terms apply to Vin Check, developed by AppsDev. By using the app you agree to these terms and applicable App Store rules. If you do not agree, stop using it. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Vehicle information, not a guarantee
VIN decoding and catalog specifications are informational. NHTSA vPIC basic decoding is not an accident, mileage, ownership, theft, lien, or title-history report. Coverage, completeness, and accuracy depend on external sources. Do not rely on the app alone when buying, selling, insuring, repairing, or determining the legal status of a vehicle. Check original documents and obtain an independent inspection where appropriate.
Current availability
The app requires iOS 18 or later and an internet connection for new remote lookups. Some cached content may remain available locally. Legacy report, photo, rating, and review services are currently unavailable; their screens do not establish that those services work. Purchases are not yet configured for release. Features and third-party service availability may change.
Authorized use
Submit VINs and share vehicle information only when you have a lawful basis and permission where required. Do not use the app to harass, impersonate, bypass access controls, unlawfully identify owners, or misrepresent a decoded result as a verified vehicle-history report. Third-party catalog content and brand marks remain subject to their owners’ rights.
Purchases and local credits
Where enabled, prices and products are shown by Apple before confirmation. The current design stores consumable credits locally; completed consumable balances are not restored or synchronized across devices and can be lost when app data is removed. Non-consumable entitlements can be restored through StoreKit subject to the same Apple account and Apple’s rules. No report credit is deducted when downloading a report fails. Refund requests are governed by Apple and applicable law; these terms do not limit statutory remedies.
History and third-party services
History is local and can be deleted. AppsDev does not promise recovery of deleted records or local balances. Firebase, NHTSA, configured vehicle-data endpoints, and sharing destinations operate independently under their own terms and privacy policies. AppsDev does not control their uptime or the completeness of their data.
Responsibility and changes
The app is provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, AppsDev is not responsible for indirect losses arising from unavailable services or reliance on vehicle information. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Updates to these terms will be published here with a revised date. Contact AppsDev at dev.play.apps@gmail.com for questions or corrections.
